Holly Cole
Saturday June 22nd, 2013 @8pm
Holly Cole is going to find a way to leave you floored. If it isn't through her sensual, intense stage presence, it'll surely be her dulcet, smoky and unmistakably jazzy voice. While she is often labeled a jazz musician, the Halifax-born chanteuse has spent much of her nearly 30-year career proving herself to be a wide-ranging musical talent who can navigate her way through country, R&B and pop stylings. Her latest album, Night, stays true to this love of variety, covering another array of skilled performers (Tom Waits and Gordon Lightfoot, among them) while even including a James Bond theme, You Only Live Twice.
"Her timing, her sultry smoky tones, her stage presence, everything about her demands to be heard." ~ The Kelowna Daily Courier

Jesse Cook
Wednesday, October 30th, 2013
Admired for his fiery rumba flamenco virtuosity since bursting onto the world music scene with 1995's Tempest, the three-time Canadian Guitarist of the Year, Jesse Cook, also incorporates elements of Brazilian, jazz and world music. With 2012's The Blue Guitar Sessions, Cook has embraced music's "spare-ness", piecing together an album of moody, easy-listening pieces infused with quiet blues, jazz and bossa nova sounds.
"Wherever Cook tends to 'go' with his projects, he always returns with an assortment of fine tunes and a noteworthy production that displays how seriously he regards his art while still having fun with its many facets." ~ The Smooth Jazz Ride

Ray Montford
Saturday, November 23rd, 2013 @8:30pm
in The Studio Theatre
Ray Montford is one of those rare guitarists who, like Jeff Beck and David Gilmour, does not consider virtuosity as a means in itself, and who knows how to make his instrument sing, creating wild and simple beauty while wringing emotion from every note. The one-time accompanist for the Rankin Family and Mary Jane Lamond composes stirring instrumentals and, with eight albums to his credit, has built a repertoire that plays like a series of magical sonic pictures.

The Once
Friday, December 13th, 2013 @8pm
Named for a unique Newfoundland phrase that means 'imminently', now is indeed the time for The Once. From their beginnings as three actors who also loved to sing together, The Once has embraced a different vision of Newfoundland music. Their sounds do not come from the noisy pubs and dockside taverns that fuel so much of the island's energy. Instead, their music comes from a quieter and more thoughtful place.

Jim Belushi & The Chicago Board of Comedy
Saturday, January 25th, 2014 @8pm
An alumnus of Saturday Night Live and Chicago's famed Second City with more than 30 years of comedy experience, Jim Belushi is now bringing to the stage an improvised comedy sketch troupe featuring members of the Chicago Board of Comedy. Accompanying Belushi are son Robert Belushi along with Megan Grano, Jon Barinholtz, and Brad Morris, all of whom are classically trained professional improvisers who tour regularly nationwide.
"We are not stand-up comedians. Our show is not a passive, sitback- and-watch experience. Most of the fun we have on stage comes from our inclusion of the audience - we get suggestions from them to begin each scene we perform, and in certain instances, bring them on-stage with us to add to our performance. It's less a 'show' and more a party. At least it feels like one to me. This group of actors brings me right back to how I started out in comedy - maybe that's why we have so much fun doing it." ~ JIM BELUSHI
