Our guest artist, the exciting Oakville violinist/violist Leslie Ashworth, returns to our stage in the delightful Viola Concerto by Carl Stamitz. Our 54th season triumphantly concludes with Tchaikovsky’s famous Symphony #5. This Russian masterpiece boldly embraces the compositional gifts of Tchaikovsky’s music – passionate melodies combined with majestic brass. The orchestra will also perform the Avalon Concert Overture by Ontario composer Frank Haworth, a piece that connects beautifully the period language of Stamitz with the colours of Tchaikovsky.
