Kudelka/Lemieux Mix

Kudelka/Lemieux Mix is a collection of three works performed by Compagnie de la Citadelle, including two of James Kudelka’s most celebrated works, along with a new work by Artistic Director Laurence Lemieux. The triple-bill features Toi et Moi - Lemieux’s duet is a physical exploration of a female/male relationship, set to the music of Willie Lamothe, an icon of Country Music in Quebec. Soudain l’Hiver Dernier - lifting or supporting a body always implies some kind of trust, and this remarkable duet by James Kudelka distills this bedrock faith. Lastly The Man in Black - the choreography, set to six songs by Johnny Cash, is an ode to the human spirit, socially congenial yet proudly independent; vulnerable yet resilient.
