Tales of courage and imagination.
Stories of imagination, resilience, and daring unfold across a vivid orchestral landscape. The program features the shimmering colours of Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé Suite No. 2 and the dramatic finale “Festival at Baghdad,” from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, music inspired by legendary tales of survival and storytelling. In collaboration with Theatre Sheridan, rising musical theatre performers join the orchestra for selections from Stephen Sondheim’s Company. Canadian composer Katerina Gimon’s Roots Beneath and Sibelius’ evocative Oceanides complete this journey through music inspired by myth, nature, and the human spirit.
