Veronica Johnny is an Indigi-Queer, Cree-Dene-mixed multi-disciplinary artist & musician, singer/songwriter, hand drummer, residential school survivor and inter-generational survivor. The Johnnys - a rock’n’roll band she founded with her life-partner Dave Johnny - have been nominated for multiple national and international music awards. 

The duo’s early recordings are more punk influenced, characterized by fun, up-tempo songs while later releases have a classic-rock feel. The Johnnys appear live as a full band, delivering rowdy, high-energy, humour-filled performances. They’ve played across Canada, been featured on TV and film and shared stages with such luminaries as Stevie Salas, Geordie Johnson, Bif Naked, Bruce Cockburn, Keith Secola & Crystal Shawanda.

Veronica’s Cree heritage is reflected in some of the band’s lyrical content, with Indigenous influences on topics such as the environment, social justice and political change.

Veronica Johnny will open the show with hand drumming and acoustic guitar. After the intermission, The Johnnys are joined by a full band for some high-energy rock.
