Music inspired by dance, tradition, and cultural legacy takes centre stage. Violinist Lynn Kuo performs the world premiere of Felipe Téllez’s Violin Concerto, co-commissioned by the Oakville Symphony. The concert culminates in Florence Price’s Symphony No. 4, presented here in the first performance by a Canadian orchestra, a landmark work blending the symphonic tradition with African-American musical heritage.

In collaboration with Theatre Sheridan, rising musical theatre performers join the orchestra for selections from Stephen Sondheim’s Company. Canadian composer Katerina Gimon’s Roots Beneath and Sibelius’ evocative Oceanides complete this journey through music inspired by myth, nature, and the human spirit.
